Iconic albums. Local musicians. Live.

Grey Bruce Live started with a pretty simple idea.

We have always found ourselves listening to music from a generation before our own. Growing up, bands like The Beatles, Rush, Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull were constantly playing in our homes.

Eventually, we both found ourselves working in music-related careers. Matt became a high school music teacher, while Logan found his way into radio.

Over the last few months, we kept coming back to the same conversation. We love going to see live music, but driving to the city for a show isn’t always easy. At the same time, we have some incredible musicians right here in Grey Bruce who deserve a stage of their own. Through teaching, Matt has seen firsthand just how much musical talent exists among young musicians in our area.

So we thought… why not build something here?

The idea behind Grey Bruce Live is to bring those two things together. Each show features local musicians performing a full iconic album, along with more of the music that made us fall in love with it in the first place. It’s our way of giving local musicians more opportunities to get on stage, keep playing, and showcase what they can do.

We hope you’ll come out and see just how much talent lives right here in Grey Bruce. And while you’re here, grab dinner. Have a drink. Check out a local shop. Make a night of it and support the community that makes something like this possible.
